Market Drayton Lions Club is part of Lions Club International – The largest Services 
Organisation
in the world.  There are currently about 1.4 million members, in over 44,000 clubs within 200
countries. Lions are all volunteers, Men and women who work together to try to make a difference
to peoples lives in their local communities as well as with national and international
humanitarian projects.

Market Drayton Lions was chartered on 8th of February 1988.  We still have one of our original
Charter member, and for the past twenty years have been raising money and helping in the
community.  All money raised in the name of charity is given to charity.  All administration is 
covered by Lion members through subscriptions and raffles. 

We are a small group of ordinary people, living in Market Drayton who try to help people in our
community. The motto of the Lions is We Serve.  The club has an active social side.  We meet
twice a month, the 2nd Wednesday of the month is a social evening, location various. The 4th
Wednesday of the month we meet at the Stafford Court Hotel, Stafford Street, Market Drayton. at 
8pm for our business
meeting. Please feel free to come alone and see us, if you would like to join us on our social

If you would like to help people in your local community, but are not sure how, just give us a
call. We need more people with new ideas and enthusiasm. Lions Clubs are open to both male and
female and there are no age restrictions.
