The Fire Brigade have received information from West Midlands Police and
Wolverhampton Trading Standards Department that the following company is
selling battery powered smoke detectors door to door  claiming that each smoke
detector  is connected directly to the customer's local fire station. 

Clearly this is misleading and members of the public who have had these
detectors fitted may not dial 999 if they think their smoke alarm is connected
directly to their local fire station.

The company is based in Cannock, and could be operating throughout the region.

Trading Standards are currently investigating the company - all enquiries

Just wondered if anyone can recommend a good walkers guide for our area. I was
out near Tyrley locks the other day and noticed two public footpaths that I
would like to explore but, having ventured into farmer's fields before and
experienced their love of electric fences, I prefer to have some sort of guide.

I already have a number of books for walks in Shropshire but there seem to be
very few close to Mkt Drayton.
